October 19 at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet premiere of the opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky “Queen of Spades”. Large-scale theatrical performance is timed to two significant dates in the history of the city 190 years ago Alexander Pushkin, and 120 years ago – Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky visited Odessa.
The idea to put the “Queen of Spades” on the stage of the Odessa Opera Theatre was born to a management of the theater a long time ago. “This project – the most expensive of all that we had,” – says the general director of the theater Nadezhda Babich. The play involves unique costumes and exclusive decoration. Without the support of enthusiasts and philanthropists this project could hardly take place.

Three first-run “Queen of Spades” were sold out.
Production of the opera realized director, People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Titel and conductor, People’s Artist of Moldova Alexander Samoila. The main parties engaged in leading soloists – Inga Martinova plays the role of Lisa, honored artist of Ukraine Valeriy Bender – the role of Hermann, in the role of the Countess – Honored Artist of Ukraine Tatiana Spassky.
