Oтn October 12, in many countries celebrates the World Day of palliative care. At the initiative of the government in different regions of Ukraine will be held events that are dedicated to this event – concerts, charity exhibitions, performances, recitals, whose purpose – to draw public attention to the need for the development of palliative and hospice care and the problems of the people who need it.
The company “InterChem” as a collective member of the Ukrainian league of promoting the development of palliative and hospice care contributes to the systematic work to attract the attention of doctors and patients to palliative care issues. The world community celebrates the Day of palliative care every year on the second Saturday of October. As a separate branch of medicine World Health Organization (WHO) introduced this direction in 1982. First, it is defined as the care of a man in the last days of life. In 2002, the WHO has expanded the concept of palliative care. Today, it is an integrated approach, which aims – to ensure maximum prevention and alleviation of the suffering of a patient with an incurable disease through early detection and accurate diagnosis of emerging issues, conducting adequate therapeutic measures, providing psychosocial and emotional support to the patient and his family.
