Combining efforts to achieve a reasonable balance between the availability of morphine for patients who need it, and at the same time, the organization of measures to control drug trafficking, is a prerequisite for ensuring the rights of palliative patients to adequate analgesia.
So far in our country seriously and terminally ill patients was only available injectable form of morphine. Access to adequate pain relief was extremely limited, especially outside the hospital and in the countryside.
For the first time in Ukraine the production of tableted morphine was registered on February 1, 2013 by “InterChem”.
