Palliative care has become more accessible

Palliative care has become more accessible Palliative hospitals and hospices across the country received a tableting morphine and other painkillers, which was handed over free of charge by pharmaceutical company "InterChem" in July to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Medicines were distributed among the specialized medical institutions in Kiev, Kharkov, Sevastopol, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson. The total amount of humanitarian medications totaled about 300 thousand UAH.

Chief Physician of Ivano-Frankivsk hospice Irina Slugotskaya said that due to the emergence of morphine in tablet form there are already significant changes: "It makes more adequate analgesia. Patients get an opportunity significantly delay the transition to injection."

Government Decree number 333 and a special order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine simplified the use of narcotic medications in medical practice. Therefore, access to palliative care of patients with pain relief should now be easier. Today morphine sulfate in tablet form in the Ukraine produces only "InterChem."

CEO Anatoly Reder said that "today "InterChem" almost  ready to meet in full the needs of palliative patients in such medications, which can bring them relief ."
